In conjunction with National Vocations Awareness, the Somerville Columbiettes will be holding a “shake a can” after all masses on April 25 & 26. The “Pennies from Heaven” program is run by the NJ State Council of Columbiettes, and 100% of all proceeds are distributed to seminarians and postulants in New Jersey to help defray the cost of their studies. As one of our patronesses, St. Therese the Little Flower, once said “What matters in life is not great deeds, but great love”. We are not asking for large donations, just spare change so we may support those who have dedicated their lives and love to God.

We joyfully celebrate and welcome the eleven adults who were received into the Church at the Great Vigil of the Resurrection on April 4, 2026, through the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and the first reception of the Holy Eucharist. We rejoice in God’s goodness and give thanks for the gift of their faith. May the Lord bless them abundantly as they begin their journeys as faithful disciples of the Risen Christ, walking with us in newness of life.
